I just love this one! Romans just had a way of stating the obvious elegantly. It is so true that when we think negatively, we see things from a negative point of view and we end up living in a negative world. When we think positively, we see things in that light and our lives are brighter.

This post really hits home for me. I think, as a people, we often fall into the trap of trying to achieve perfection or not being satisfied unless we are perfect. This makes us miserable. I've had to retrain my brain to not accept mediocrity but, rather accept that no matter how I am currently doing, I can always do better tomorrow. Just focus on doing incrementally better each day, week, month, quarter.

My wall was and still is (I'm working on it) an emotional wall. The false thinking here is if I can build this wall and keep people from getting too close, then I can't be hurt by anyone again. The reason for my wall was the end of my 23 year marriage to a man I loved and still love after 16 years of divorce. Of course it is the man I married whom I still love....not the man he became. My trust in him was so complete that I could not believe he didn't love me anymore. Of course hindsight is 20/20 and if I had had reason to look, I would have seen it coming. Anyway because of this wall, I have limited my ability to let people in. I am working on it with the help of an extremely good therapist after all these years and it is hard. It's easy to build the wall, you just put it up as fast as you can thinking it will stop the hurt. Taking the wall down is so much harder because you have to examine each rock as you take it down.

I usually say something good is going to happen today in the car on the way to work. Work has been stressful, and I find this quote helps me find that one point of light I need for the day. Well, it paid off in spades Wednesday. As I was saying my mantra my local radio station had a contest on for flowers. I took a chance and called in, yes more than a couple of times. However, i was the first one with the correct answer. Not only did I feel great all day, today I am going to get my prize, a small arrangement of flowers for my desk.....Lovely!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!LouAnn

Christmas is the celebration of the Lord Jesus' birth. He was God's gift to us, the first Christmas present!

The Christmas story is wrapped up in one Bible verse...John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that He GAVE His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Thank you God, for the best gift ever!
