Who I am…

“Who I am makes a difference”
~a good morning reader found this message on a ribbon that came home
from school with her seven-year-old son

Good morning! I love that message! Perhaps we should each make a ribbon or card displaying those six important words to remind ourselves that each and every day, who we are makes a difference!

One of my favorite quotes has always been, “Those who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, usually do” (source unknown). We get to the place where we can make positive change by believing and embracing the concept that who we are makes a difference.

In today’s world, it is so easy to forget our own power and fall into the rut of blame or negativity. That’s why it is so important to focus each morning through the power of a “good morning,” and remember all that is good and right about ourselves and about our world.

Your Turn: Write today’s quote on a piece of paper and place it where you will see it each morning.

Today’s Affirmation: Who I am makes a difference.

  1. I love this – and need to put it on a card for myself, and my children!! What a great way to think – who I am makes a difference – because it does!!!! Sometimes we think because we haven’t done anything BIG…our lives don’t count. But it does….and I believe what really counts is not the BIG things – but the little things. I read a poem once about being a mom, and it talked about how god sees the little things….the unrewarded, behind the scenes daily things we do – that are positive and good in the world. Helping a child, a kind word, a smile, a random act of kindness.

  2. my yoga teacher brought us all these ribbons yesterday in class. such a great thought for each of us. too bad we can’t all think that way about each person we meet–there’d peace in the world!
