Good Morning: Make Sure to Schedule Your...

“The key is not to prioritize what’s on your schedule, but to schedule your priorities.”  ~Stephen Covey   Good morning!  Thanks for sending in this quote, Hope, which is a wonderful reminder to us all. Hope also shared, “I always include at least 2 short-term-to-dos from my Top 3 snapshot categories I’m concentrating on at the moment. And I have found that my life focus is changing fairly frequently at this time, so I revisit my snapshot every 3 months or so and tweak it…  Doing this allows me to really ‘see’ from the...

Good Morning: Make the Most of Each Day...

“Much good work is lost for lack of a little more.”  ~Joyce Gearhart   Good morning!  For many readers, Friday brings a “sigh” of relief. The weekend is coming, time to relax and catch up. As we turn toward the weekend though, don’t forget to make every moment of today count. When we let our minds wander to what “is to come” we can quickly miss the important moments that are here right now.   Your turn: While anticipating what is to come, always do your best work in the moment. With each task you do or complete, ask...

Good Morning: Don’t Find Yourself,...

“Life isn’t about finding yourself–life is about creating yourself.” ~George Bernard Shaw   Good morning!  How many books and shows have you seen that are all about “finding your true self?” I think the reason there are so many shows and books on this topic is that because that is a quest with no result. No matter how high or low we look, we will never “find ourselves.” Life is our blank canvas. We must create our self. Your Turn: View your life as a blank canvas today. Live in color. Affirmation: Each day, I add to...

Good Morning: Sieze the Day and Make Dif...

"How wonderful it is that nobody need wait a single moment before starting to improve the world." --Anne Frank Good morning! The fact that you are reading this shows your commitment to improve your surroundings and improve the world around you. The best part about changing our lives and the world for the better is that we don't have to wait until tomorrow to start. Today - many opportunities will come your way to make a difference. Will you seize them and take the opportunity to reach out to someone? To make someone smile or laugh instead of shrugging your...

Good Morning: Don’t Wait for the R...

"To achieve great things, two things are needed; a plan, and not quite enough time."--Leonard Bernstein Good morning! I love this quote because it holds an absolute truth that we often forget. So many times when we long to achieve greatness, we think we have to wait for "the right time." But the right time never comes. Life doesn't offer clear plateaus without something pulling us one direction or another. It is when we commit with a solid plan but don't have quite enough time, that we propel ourselves to action. We rid ourselves of excuses and move forward any way....

Good Morning: Life is 90 Percent Attitud...

The longer I live, the more I realize the impact of attitude on life. Attitude to me is more important than facts. It is more important than the past, than education, than money, than circumstances, than failures, than success, than what other people think, say or do. It is more important than appearance, gift, or skill. It will make or break a company...a church...a home. The remarkable thing is we have a choice every day regarding the attitude we will embrace for that day. We cannot change our past... The only thing we can do is play on the string we have, and that...

Good Morning: Do You Listen?...

"Time is the most valuable thing a man can spend." ~Diogenes Laetius Good morning! Good listening skills are important to enhancing our relationships with family, friends and colleagues. Let's take a quick "refresher course" on the "Five Basics." RULE #1 - Listen with your whole body. When listening to your anyone, the cliche' - "actions speak louder than words" - should be remembered. Turn off the television, keep good eye contact, put down the paper or file and give the person your undivided attention. RULE #2 - Ask questions. Asking questions will show your...

Decision Dwelling...

It seems society if filled with people who love to ponder. We think about doing one thing or another, weigh the pros and cons, and then continue to think some more. (more…) ...

Checking your list twice...

Every morning you are handed 24 golden hours. They are one of the few things in this world that you get free of charge. If you had all the money in the world, you couldn’t buy an extra hour. What will you do with this priceless treasure? Author Unknown Good morning! Today I encourage you to take a good, long, look at your to-do list. To-Do lists can be quite interesting and revealing. Many of us feel guilt when we don’t accomplish those items we have labeled as “to-dos.” But before feeling guilt, perhaps it is time to look at your to-do list in a...

Daily Practices to Improve Your Life by ...

This past weekend was a very reflective one for me–and quite a few of our friends and family members. Every year in the small town where my mother, brother and I grew up (about 5 hours north of where I live presently), a water ski barefoot tournament is held in honor of my brother’s memory (he was an INCREDIBLE barefoot water skier–one of the best there is)!. These tournaments started in 1999 and we just had the 7th one this past weekend. This weekend was especially significant because we have had Caleb’s ashes for nine years and with his closest...
