Will you say “yes” to life?

“The big question is whether you are going to say a hearty “YES!” to your adventure.” Joseph Campbell

Brook’s addendum:

“The big question is whether you are going to say a hearty “YES!” to your adventure-day after day after day.”

Good morning! We have all heard the clichés about being “high on life!” And how easy that is to do on a day when our stars align and our energy and goals flow almost effortless. It is easy to say “yes!” to our adventure on those smooth-flowing days. But we cannot get to where we want to be by only yielding to the easy. To reach our goals, to be our own personal best, we must say “yes!” even on the tough days, the challenging days, the -what-on-earth-am-I-doing-here-and-why- days.

For those of you who have children or are close to a child, here is an interesting way to view today’s message. Very often, we expect our children to “keep their chin up,” or “be strong in the face of adversity.” We place expectations on them to say “yes!” to life’s adventure day-in and day-out. But what are we doing? Are we living “yes!” lives or “maybe” lives? Are we living the challenge?

Your Turn:
Stop and say a heartfelt “yes!” welcoming whatever lessons life brings today -whether they be lessons you welcome or lessons you’d rather not learn

Today’s Affirmation: Everything happens for a reason. Just believe.

  1. I’ve always liked that affirmation that everything happens for a reason – there are a lot of things that don’t go the way we’d like but many times the hard way teaches you an important lesson that you might miss if it all went smoothly.
