Dance with opportunity

“Opportunity dances with those who are ready on the dance floor.” -H. Jackson Brown Jr.

Good morning! I have always felt that one of the best things I have going for me is my eternal quest to learn more. As we move through life, we keep our minds fresh and our souls young when we strive to continually learn and improve.

The options available today for learning are endless. We can learn online, through videos, books, local colleges, art stores, correspondence courses. . . I can’t think of any group that demonstrates personal growth better than those who go back to school late in life. A young friend of mind recently graduated from college and received her degree, right after an eighty-two-year-old classmate, who had just completed her B.A. At her graduation party, this eighty-two-year-old still hadn’t quite decided what she was going to do with her life.

Personal growth allows us to experience new and exciting parts of this world and also shows our children how to be open to new experiences, more options and a diverse opportunity.

Your Turn: Every year, make a goal for yourself in the area of personal growth. Perhaps it will be to take a new class, learn a new skill, research a home-based business, or read a certain number of books. Whatever goal works for you is fine, as long as it pulls you past old boundaries.

Today’s Affirmation: Every year, I challenge myself to learn something new.

  1. Today’s email and its’ message comes at such a great time for me. Almost 35 years after graduating from college, I am going back to school next week. One of the items on my “bucket list” is to learn to speak Italian and Intro to Italian starts on Tuesday. I’ve had some misgivings since I will most certainly be the oldest person in the classroom but I think that younger people have a lot to teach me and I have a lot of life to share with them.
