Good Morning: How do You Use Your Time?

“Just because you bought the ticket doesn’t mean you have to stay for the second act.”
~From a print hanging on my wall

Good morning
This is one of those quotes that made me nod in knowing recognition when I first saw it. It resonated with how often we start something and commit our time to it, and then realize that particular activity isn’t fulfilling our purpose or goals in the way as we hoped. Or perhaps we have filled our calendars with activities that keep us busy, but don’t take us any closer to the life we truly desire.

Four times a year, once per season, it is valuable to step back and look at our activities and commitments. If they are not leading us to a more fulfilling and rich life, then we would be wise to change paths. As the quote says, “We don’t have to stay for the second act.” Our time is valuable. Our energy is valuable. We need to use both our time and energy on the activities that enrich us.

Your Turn:
Reflect on your current activities and commitments. Are they leading you toward a more fulfilling and rich life? Think about ways to minimize the activities that don’t reward you and make space for activities that are more rewarding.

Your Affirmation:
I spend my time wisely.

And as always, don’t forget to start your day with a heartfelt: “Something great is going to happen today… I can’t wait to see what it is!”

And when ending your day ask yourself:
“What is one more thing I can do to make today matter?”
