 In this course you will:

  • Set up your household Spending Station to provide a record of all spending
  • Build a household budget to plan for every cent of income and outgo
  • Establish a ‘personal layaway plan’ for the ‘extra purchases’
  • Explore a “cash-only” lifestyle that has proven power to reduce debtload and build savings

Course Summary:

Week One – In our first week together we will focus upon building our Spending Stations, which will be the ‘home record’ for all our financial responsibilities.  We will devise a Wants Ledger that allows us to cut down on impulse buying by developing a plan for purchases, and using special forms, account for personal and household spending.

Week Two – Our second week focuses upon our budgetary needs, using a budget spreadsheet (an Excel workbook designed by Brook and part of the course offerings) in order to record the entries in our Spending Stations.  Then we will explore the “cash-only” program that Brook designed and has successfully used in her own household for many years, and customize it for practical use in our own lives.

These are difficult financial times…make the most of them as you learn careful and responsible money management.

Class F.A.Q.

How Do These Classes Work?
Our classes are presented via our Facebook platform.  The Sunday before classes start, you will receive an email invitation to join the secret Facebook group for your class.  If you enroll in the class after the start date, please allow 48 hours to receive your email invitation.

Please make sure you sign up for the class using the email account associated with your Facebook account.

 How much time does this class require? There is no mandatory homework or mandatory sharing so you are free to work at your own pace although you will need to download all lessons during the class period – we do leave classes open for 1 week beyond the scheduled end date, to allow you to retrieve any outstanding information. Since we run so many classes, we are unable to send lessons manually or to make them available once the class has closed. By completing an action plan and downloading the lessons you can continue to work on your new system at any pace comfortable to you.
