Class: Creating a Craft Space That Inspires

2 weeks – $39 – Click here to register
Class begins May 15, 2017

Get your creative space organized! Save time. Look less and create more!

Often in the midst of creativity we do not want to stop and put something back or lose our flow by searching for a misplaced item. Before we know it our creative space is pile upon pile. Brook faced these challenges and began to work through her creative space, using new approaches and knowledge from her other organizational systems. She adapted these to specifically match people when in the “creative zone.” This led to the “creative organizational system,” that will be shared in this course. Over the course of two weeks, we will take stock of our craft space, make a plan, and put it in action.

Week One: Taking Stock: This week a step-by-step plan will help you “take inventory” of all the major groups of crafts we will be organizing as well their major “sub-categories.”

We will continue by answering a series of questions about your creative personality, obstacles, how often you use materials, etc. We then hone in on the specific questions for the categories identified during week one. Using this information we will map out our space (no matter how big or small) to make a physical-plan that is maximized for creative endeavors.

Week Two: Thinking Outside the Box & Putting It All Together: Big containers with drawers, little containers with drawers, plastic boxes with lids, plastic boxes without, cute material organizers, binders, files–the choices are endless! In these lessons Brook shares the pros and cons of how to “store the stuff” and how to identify solutions that match your creative personality.  Using the solid written plan we created, these lessons mark the start of “major” implementation.    Lastly, we create a walk-thru and maintenance plan for our craft area as well as outline any remaining tasks to complete.

Bonus: Organizing Support and Your Questions Answered: In this lesson Brook covers common organizing questions and provides a comprehensive list of resources.

Class F.A.Q.

This class is being offered via our new Facebook group format.  After you have enrolled in this class, you will receive an email invitation to join the secret group on Facebook.  If your Facebook email is not the same as the one you are using to register for this class, please note the other email address in the Comment section when you register.

If you are enrolling in this course on the start date or during the first week, please allow one business day to receive your invitation to join the group.

How much time does this class require? There is no mandatory deadline or sharing with the assignments (although sharing is encouraged and half the fun!) therefore you are free to work at your own pace although you will need to download all lessons during the class period. We do leave classes open for 1 month beyond the scheduled end date, to allow you to retrieve any outstanding information and download lessons–although class helpers are not available for Q&A during this time. Class helpers are only available during the actual 2 weeks of the course.  Since we run so many classes, we are unable to send lessons manually or to make them available once the class has closed. By completing an action plan and downloading the lessons you can continue to work on your new system at any pace comfortable to you.
