Good morning!

A few years ago I was emptying out my daughter’s take-home folder, a little orange piece of paper fluttered to the ground. I picked up the small square and read it. Here is what was written:  This is the beginning of a new day. You have been given this day to use as you will. You can waste it or use it to your advantage. What you do today is important because you are exchanging a day of your life for it. When tomorrow comes, this day will be gone forever; in its place is something that you left behind… let it be something you’re proud of.

I don’t know where the piece of paper came from and I forgot to ask my daughter before she headed off for school the next morning. I guess where it came from doesn’t matter as much as the message it carries. How blessed we are to have THIS new day. Let’s make the most of it. Let’s exchange a day of our lives toward building a legacy of hope and happiness.

Your Turn:
Take a moment to think about the wonderful gift of today. What can you do to make the most of it? When tomorrow comes, what gift will you have left with today?

Your Affirmation:
Today I leave something behind, and it is something I am proud of.
